Nearly was cheated 3 times and post radio show thoughts

Went shopping today but I was amazed at how many times I could have been taken had I not piped up and said something. 3 time! Actually the 1st time I let it slip. The clerk caught the markdown on one item but not on the other. Next at the hardware store I often frequent, I was nearly charged from 4 feet of an item instead of the 3 which was on the order slip. I caught that one. I am not sure why the clerk input 4 when it clearly said 3 on the slip. The last time was at one the big box home improvement stores. It was sort of was my fault- I decided to pick up a live Christmas wreath because they were free now. I put it on the belt and the clerk rang it up. I interjected that it was supposed to be free. He mentioned the sign near one entrance and assumed it was for live items at that door. Finally another clerk had to step in and verify that indeed all live wreaths were now free. Hurrah! Now my balcony is just a little more festive. I found it odd that this retailer (rhymes with jac...

Upon this nativity I do behold

Image
Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. You've probably heard this dozens of times if you watch Charlie Brown Christmas. Linus takes the spotlight and tells Charlie Brown (and everyone else) what Christmas is all about. I have seen it 3 times this year and it doesn't get boring. Hulu is still streaming it until the end of the year.  A Charlie Brown Christmas is short and to the point and doesn't follow too many rabbit trails. Short summary- Charlie Brown is stressed by Christmas. He seeks help which send him in a different direction. Linus sets it straight (or should we credit the King James Bible?) and Charlie Brown changes his viewpoint. I like how Schulz was already contrasting the befuddled Charlie Brown with the "give me" attitude of some of the other characters- something that still rings true today about our celebration...

2009 Christmas Show: It's Christmas and who carols?

Image
It's nearly here. Just a few more hours. And for me a few more stressful hours. 2009 Christmas Show It's Christmas and who carols? 12th December 2009, 7PM 608 Main Ave Fargo, ND Just a few steps from the corner of Main and Broadway. Directions . It's a Christmas themed entertainment in the form of a live radio show with music and some audience participation. Plus, did I mention that people have said it's hilarious in past years. And I assure you it is still outrageously funny. And it's FREE . If your in the area you don't want to miss this uproarious evening (mostly because it won't be on the radio.) I've put a tremendous amount of work into the show as have my co-producers and the cast and musicians. Again you won't want to miss out. There will be refreshments following the show.

2008 Radio show recording

Image
T oday reminded me of the 2008 radio show which a cast, band and I recorded back in December of 2008. It was supposed to be a big event with lots of people coming to be part of the studio audience. However, the weather would gain the upper hand and create fear and loathing amongst the potential crowd which would be attending. The eye of the storm came the next day. But for those who missed it and those who never heard of such a crazy show which never airs on real radio (I'm told it's only for professionals) you have chance to hear it. Go to this URL: http://www.hcc-fargo.com/ and then click on 2008 Radio Show. Hopefully more will hear it online than actually heard/saw it live.
